Today, restaurant staff confirmed on the Santa Paula Community News Facebook page that both restaurants (Flight 126 and the Hangar) are shutting down as of July 27, 2025.
One staff member described the issue as a “technical glitch” that prevented the restaurants from renewing their leases. They were then served with a 30-day notice to vacate.
It’s a head-scratcher how a “technical glitch” earns an immediate eviction notice instead of say, a late fee or some such. (Methinks there are some shenanigans afoot.)
Regardless, community members are expressing their disappointment and dismay. Both restaurants have been popular hangs for the last several years — especially with the “front-row” seats they offer to the Santa Paula Airport’s daily takeoffs and landings.
It’s not clear yet who might take over the leases or what will happen to the building, which is apparently owned by the airport’s board of directors.
If you can, head on over and show them some love before the 27th.
